Our Story
Here at Weaver’s Bent Rods we have had a true passion for fishing since we were young kids. This passion resulted in always looking for the highest quality and performance gear. Our journey in rod building began while looking for a laker rod for ice fishing and coming to the realization that what we were after was not available.
After we had came up with our first rod and fished it for the first season we truly understood the benefits and performance of custom rods and developed a passion for perfecting each and every build. After many friends and family had the chance to come fishing and try these rods they were very intrigued and shortly after requests for their own personal rods started to come in!
Since I was a young kid I always had a tremendous passion for fishing. Summer vacation consisted of which lake or tributary would we be near? What kind of fishing did it offer? and how would I make it there? Days off from hockey in the winter consisted of which lake I could convince my parents to take me to. After every trip out on the water countless hours were spent watching the fishing channel and surfing the internet to prepare for the next outing. Soon after I graduated high school I had my first boat and needless to say I spent almost every day off out on the lake. When I moved to Cold Lake I developed a great passion for lake trout fishing as this was new to me. Eventually I learned how to effectively fish them and day after day putting more fish in the boat. The learning curve was sped up by getting out on the water with some very experienced anglers that I can’t thank enough for the knowledge that was passed to me.
After having the pleasure of being joined by many friends and family out on the lake it was suggested many times that I take my passion and knowledge of fishing and apply to taking people out. After many years of living in Cold Lake and countless weekends of taking out guests of friends and family for successful days of fishing in the lakeland area I realized how much fun I have on each and every adventure along with the friendships that were developed. Through these adventures I learned how much I enjoyed putting a smile on somebody’s face through a successful day on the water and the shared passion of fishing and the outdoors. Throughout social media posts and many of my youtube videos a few requests started to come in to inquire if I would offer any guided trips as they were interested in joining me out on the water. We have officially decided to start offering select chartered trips out on the water in the lakeland area! More info to come shortly!
